A simple and bright Italian white wine to enjoy on summer days.

Summer finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest. This past week was particularly nice and left me searching for a new wine to enjoy on the deck with a light dinner.

What I found was the 2018 Vinosia Falanghina.  This is an Italian white wine from the Campania region.  Italy has dozens of white wines each with subtle variations.  Falanghina accels in the warm Mediterranean climate.  Simple and bright, this wine shines on a warm day.  Pull it out of the fridge for 10 minutes or so to unlock the full potential and beauty of this wine.

Aromas for citrus, lemon flower, mineral, and peach are present in this bouquet.  I got a rich apple, pear, and mineral flavor as I sipped through this wine.  For a warm summer afternoon wine this truly excelled.  This pairs well with a charcuterie tray, fish, high acid foods, or just by itself.

What I like about this wine is it brings variety to the usual suspects of summer white wines.  Italy has a wealth of whites that can help expand your summer offerings.  This wine is youthful and meant to drink young.  Buy now and drink now is the category.  :)
