Medium bodied white wine ready for summer
Long warm days of summer lend themselves to pleasant white wines that are easy drinking and liven that day up. I discovered this wine from the Galicia region in Spain. Made with 100% Godello (goh-DEH-yoh) grapes, this medium bodied wine is a great pairing with light summer dinners.
The clear, pale lemon color catches light while in you glass. The aromas that I smell remind me of the coastal lands. It often has a mineral almost saline smell to it. Citrus notes along with ripe melon and apple round out the aromas. On first sip, this is a clean, crisp wine. It drinks well by itself on warm days, but it really shines when you pair it up with dishes inspired by the maritime climate. This wine has more complexity than some of the simple, single variety wines that American drinkers tend to have on hand. It is worth checking out to compliment your dinner or patio party.
This wine is ready to drink now. It may last 2-3 more years, but the best drinking is sooner than later.
